Introduction
First of all, you may be wondering what a Proxy is exactly...
A Proxy or Proxy Server allows you to share your internet connection with other machines you have networked together. If you don't have a home or office network,
then you will probably want to skip reading this article.
First Impressions...Spoon Proxy is the easiest no-nonsense proxy program on the market - period.
I remember when there was only about three products available from download.com
and since then I have tried numerous programs, but none of them were as easy
to configure (almost non-existent configuration process) or as unobtrusive.
The key thing to remember is to check the website or help file so you know
what numbers to type in the proxy settings for your browser.
A common mistake is to incorrectly or not configure your browser at all.
Its so simple, all you need is the COMPUTER NAME and port numbers.
For a quick reference, the default ports are:
FTP Port: 2323
HTTP Port 2222
HTTPS Port: 2525 (Sometimes called SSL)
Telnet Port: 2121
You can get Spoon Proxy from here:

If you have no idea at all about setting up a Proxy Server then you should
read this:

All about Proxy Servers in a well written webpage.
Note:
To get some programs to work properly, you will need a SOCKS interface,
such as SocksCAP from NEC or Hummingbird. To configure them you can follow these directions. To learn the ins and outs of SOCKS, read this FAQ.
This includes software like: Napster, FTP Explorer, Everquest and a few others.
Conclusion
Since we have been networking, we have tried them all, and this one is the
best one for your slightly not-so "average" user. We realize not everybody
is going to have a home LAN ~ but if you do, and you want the best of
ease of use and cheap - here ya go!
